Our meetings encourage scientific exchange between members and experts in the field, providing opportunities to share knowledge, discuss current research, and stay informed about developments in radiation protection.

Affiliates help maintain open lines of communication between our local chapter members and the Health Physics Society.

Through this connection, members stay informed about society initiatives, professional opportunities, and developments in the field of radiation safety. Affiliates play an important role in strengthening collaboration between the chapter and the broader health physics community.

ETCHPS is a scientific and professional organization whose members specialize in occupational, environmental, and medical radiation safety. Our membership includes professionals engaged in commercial, industrial, university, medical, and governmental radiation safety programs throughout East Tennessee. We are proud to serve as a regional affiliate of the Health Physics Society.

The primary purpose of our Chapter is to support our members in the practice of their profession by providing high-quality educational and training opportunities. We host conferences and technical meetings that offer access to current research, regulatory updates, and emerging scientific developments in radiation protection.

In addition, ETCHPS participates in public outreach initiatives to promote greater understanding of the benefits and risks associated with ionizing radiation, fostering informed dialogue within our community.
